How to Create a Class Motto

Can you believe it's already time to start the year? It is my special privilege to get to make music with kids, but sometimes they forget that we are doing it together. It keeps me going back for more every week, even when the politics of education start to bog me down. I also intentionally include their interests, their song choices, and their passions in my lessons. I believe that makes us both better. So I put this on a bulletin board right at the front of my room as my classroom motto! I refer to it often and it helps to re-align our perspectives, because my students know that I do care about them and what they like to sing, play, and create. You can use this in your room too, just email me and I can send you the SVG file!
To make your own...think about this:
What motivates you to keep showing up each day?
As far as the background goes, I had the paint counter match some sample size jars to a decor piece I was going to use, and then I just smeared the paint together to create the ombre effect! PRO TIP: Don't use the same brush for all the colors!! Also, if you dip your brush half in one color, and half in the other, you can create a better fade between the two!
OR maybe this will inspire you to make your own!
"In this classroom, we sing, play & create better together."

Good luck!
Ashley
